Tremendous advantage can be gained from knowing the maps your playing. Before playing any opponent you want to have the following points in mind:
- Geographically in terms of how you can use the terrain to your advantage from defensive and offensive perspectives
- Creeping is key so be sure to research where they are and when to take em.
- Would using a different race be of advantage to me?
- Key resource points. Know where they are and when expanding which ones will I go for first? Think about which ones your opponent(s) will try and go for first?
- Make sure you figure out key routes that your enemy might use to stage attacks from?
- Ask yourself does this map serve better for expaning fast or taking a more moderate approach?
